Goosebumps começou originalmente como livros de terror para crianças. Depois foi transformado numa série de televisão exibida pela Fox Kids. Apesar de serem histórias de terror, os episódios são relativamente leves já que são feitos para o público jovem. Cada episódio é independente do outro, a não ser episódios que tem continuações. Nenhuma história do Goosebumps termina com um final feliz.
